Tips for Good SEO - Search Engine Optimisation and Content

How should a Web Strategy / Content Writer think about keyword optimisation and strategy around content.

Here are some simple steps to work on their website and blog posts to build a good structure and get a good overview of content. Take control of what's published on your site ..

  1. Identify which words you want to appear on. Do you have the opportunity to get a keyword list that is created with key keywords in your industry? Look at your web page and identify which pages are associated with specific focus words / phrases.

  2. Now you need to collect synonyms around the focus word / phrase that you want to optimise text around. Enter the word / search phrase that content should be created around in the browser and search. Also try variations 2-3 times around the keyword / phrase when you search to see what's up. See which ones appear in the search results and study how their titles and meta descriptions look like. Create a list of synonyms and related keywords to the focus keyword. We assume the word cars in the following examples ... The purple text is the title of the page and the text below is a meta description. Look through and list good words used around the word "cars" At the bottom of the search results, Google also shows the most common and popular searches around cars.

Here is a list of a keyword group look, interior car cars buy ... Cars - used cars - cars ads - buy used cars - buy cars - buy new cars - buy car tips - buy car private - buy used car any brand etc ... Order In this group, you create content around the page "Cars" using at least 500 words. Fill in a thoughtful title and meta description for your page. Also on blog posts. You can usually specify it in different CMS systems. Title usually contains 55-70 characters and meta description about 160 characters.

Once you've created your keyword list that has been broken down into main keywords with its keyword group, it's time to create a publishing plan. It helps to get an overview so you do not create multiple pages for the same keyword.

If you have multiple pages for the same topic, the result is that you compete with yourself about which page should appear on Google. The result may be that instead you do not position yourself at all. Therefore, it is important to keep track of where / when / how different words and phrases are used on the site. Here you can work so that the main word has its own page in the menu structure. The words / phrases available can be split up and create blog posts around, then internal links to the main page.

Blog posts are spread on social channels with links to the blog page / main page of the site. This way, you build your company name and create traffic to the site over time. The publication plan clearly shows which main pages are and what blog posts are created, when they are published / published, and how they are linked to the main page. If you work with tags on your blog, make sure to structure which tags you use and reuse the relevant ones. If you close 100 tags with just one blog post linked, tagging will lose its purpose when searching for different topics in the blog.

It is better to have 20 relevant tags with 5 linked blogs per tag that belong. When someone searches, 5 blog posts will appear within that topic instead of just one. Therefore, restrict the number of tags and reuse.

Summary

  • Create keyword list with keyword grouping

  • Select relevant pages for the main keyword. Missing page create one.

  • Make a publishing plan. So you get an overview where / when / how your content is used to avoid starting to compete with yourself in content. Otherwise, you risk losing your positions instead.

  • Based on the publishing plan, write blog posts around words / phrases found in the keyword group internal link to the main page for the keyword group.

  • Are tags used in the blog? Then limit the number. Create a thoughtful "topic statement structure" and reuse. Tag up to max 2-3 tags per blog post.
